At TicketLime, we believe in transparent, fair pricing for both organisers and attendees. To support this, we’ve introduced a new built‑in feature that lets you choose how platform fees are handled for your events.
You can now decide whether to:
- Absorb the platform fee (buyers see a clean ticket price), or
- Pass the platform fee on to the buyer (you receive the full ticket price).
This replaces the need to manually create optional fees for platform costs.
What’s Changing (Quick Summary)
- Platform fees are now managed natively by TicketLime
- You no longer need to create a custom or optional fee to cover platform costs
- You can set a default fee preference at organiser level
- You can override this setting per event if needed
Step 1: Set Your Default Platform Fee Preference (Organiser Dashboard)
This setting controls how platform fees are handled for all new events by default.
- Log in to your TicketLime Business dashboard
- Go to Settings in the left‑hand menu
- Select Platform Fees

What You’ll See
You’ll see two options:
Option A: Pass Fee to Buyer
- The platform fee is added on top of the ticket price
- Buyers pay slightly more
- You receive the full ticket price
Option B: Absorb Fee
- Buyers see a clean, all‑in ticket price
- The platform fee is deducted from your payout
A live price preview helps you clearly understand:
- What the buyer pays
- What you receive
Once selected, click Save.
Step 2: Override Platform Fees for a Specific Event
Need a different setup for a particular event? No problem.
You can override the default setting inside each individual event.
- Open the event you want to edit
- Go to the Event Settings section
- Platform Fees
- Choose whether to:
- Absorb the platform fee, or
- Pass the platform fee to the buyer
- Save

This change only applies to that event and does not affect your organiser‑level default.
Important Note for Existing Events
If you previously created an optional fee to cover TicketLime platform costs:
- We recommend removing that optional fee for new events
- The new built‑in platform fee toggle now handles this automatically
This avoids buyers seeing duplicated or confusing fees.

- Support compliance with evolving surcharge regulations in Australia and New Zealand
- Keep TicketLime pricing fair, simple, and transparent
